Meet the Board
The Social Homeschooler operates as a social club as recognized under the definition 501(c)7. The board is composed of volunteers using their time, passion, and skills to serve the community.
Stephanie Wharton-Lynch is the Founder and Director of The Social Homeschooler. With six years homeschooling experience and four years providing a platform for connection in the local homeschool community through Homeschool Recess Leavenworth County, Stephanie uses her passion for people to help create opportunities for learning and growth to enrich the homeschool experience.
Driven by her vision to empower students to learn through holistic experiences, Stephanie has helped create an inviting community for families to participate in clubs and mentorships as a part of The Social Homeschooler Co-op. Stephanie’s passion for learning and community propels her in pursuing the work that makes these opportunities available for local students, families and the community at large. When she’s not busy directing and participating in The Social Homeschooler, Stephanie can likely be found spending time with family and friends, gardening or reading a book. |
Arlee Kilbourn is the Operations Liaison for The Social Homeschooler. She brings with her three years of homeschooling experience and uses her organizational skills to help things run smoothly behind the scenes. Arlee holds a BA in Spanish, is a partner with her husband, Patrick, in their real estate investment business, a brand advocate for Beautycounter and an AirBnb host - all while caretaking for their three children at home. Her commitment to The Social Homeschooler is fueled by her appreciation for this diverse social community that enriches her family’s educational experiences, pushes them out of their comfort zone at times and always welcomes them to the next adventure! In her spare time, Arlee enjoys being with family, working in her garden, designing another home renovation project and most recently, learning the art of baking with sourdough.

Jessica Schnellbacher moved to the Leavenworth area in the summer of 2022 and enrolled her family with The Social Homeschooler Co-op as soon as they arrived. She is now a Board Member for The Social Homeschooler and began serving as the Events Liaison in the spring of 2023.
For over a decade, Jessica has been homeschooling her two boys. As part of a military family, now at their 6th duty station, Jessica understands the importance of finding welcoming, accessible, and enjoyable avenues for building relationships and participating in community. Jessica is dedicated to creating opportunities for her children and others to learn about the world they live in, appreciate the people in it, discover who they are, and explore how they can best show up for themselves and those around them. In her free time, Jessica enjoys reading, baking, trying new recipes, and thinking about hiking. |
