Stephanie Wharton-Lynch
Founder & Director

Stephanie Wharton-Lynch is the Founder and Director of The Social Homeschooler. With eight years homeschooling experience and five years providing a platform for connection in the local homeschool community through Homeschool Recess Leavenworth County, Stephanie uses her passion for people to help create opportunities for learning and growth to enrich the homeschool experience.
Driven by her vision to empower students to learn through holistic experiences, Stephanie has helped create an inviting community for families to participate in clubs and mentorships as a part of The Social Homeschooler Co-op. Stephanie’s passion for learning and community propels her in pursuing the work that makes these opportunities available for local students, families and the community at large.
When she’s not busy directing and participating in The Social Homeschooler, Stephanie can likely be found spending time with family and friends, gardening or reading a book.

Arlee Kilbourn is the Operations Liaison for The Social Homeschooler. She brings with her five years of homeschooling experience and uses her organizational skills to help things run smoothly behind the scenes. Arlee holds a BA in Spanish, is a partner with her husband, Patrick, in their real estate investment business and an AirBnb host - all while caretaking for their three children at home. Her commitment to The Social Homeschooler is fueled by her appreciation for this diverse social community that enriches her family’s educational experiences, pushes them out of their comfort zone at times and always welcomes them to the next adventure!  Arlee enjoys being with family and greatly appreciates the perks of small town living. In her spare time you can find her reading, gardening, or designing another renovation project.

Dayna Comer
events Liaison
As a military spouse, Dayna has grown accustomed to frequent moves—but one constant in each new place has been her commitment to finding meaningful connection and community for her family. When she discovered The Social Homeschooler in the fall of 2024, she immediately felt at home. The warmth of the families and the richness of the experiences offered made a lasting impression on both her and her three young children.
Grateful for the support and sense of belonging the group has provided, Dayna is excited to give back as a board member. She hopes to help foster deeper connections among children of all ages through play-based interactions and by encouraging peer mentorship.
When she’s not homeschooling or volunteering, Dayna enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, hiking, dancing around the house, and spending time outdoors with her family.
